Job Description:
The Revenue Forecasting Team within the Revenue Group is currently looking for a VPS4 Economist on an ongoing basis, to maintain and improve DTF’s forecasting approach by working with DTF’s forecasting area and relevant universities to build and improve forecasting approaches.
Job Responsibilities:
- Delivering briefings to senior management and government that are timely, accessible and accurate
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that revenue forecasts reflect the most up-to-date information and policy developments
- Working both independently and collaboratively to contribute to forecast state revenue lines, improve the quality of revenue forecasts and research on complex economic policy issues
- Fostering a positive team culture
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience using economic or econometric models as the basis for the preparation of forecasts
- Experience preparing high quality verbal and written briefings and advice; including the ability to convey complex issues persuasively and effectively in plain language
- Appropriate postgraduate qualification in economics or a related field.
