Job Description:
The Water Operations Division of Tamworth Regional Council operates six (6) water supplies and four (4) wastewater schemes and is seeking a new team member to carry out the maintenance and operation of Council’s water and wastewater distribution infrastructure. Ideally, you will have completed a Certificate III in Water Operations, Civil Construction or equivalent, but we will consider applicants that have been working in a related construction or maintenance field, or have experience operating plant and machinery.
Job Requirements:
- Class C Drivers licence with a willingness to upgrade to MR (on appointment) – for discussion
- WHS Construction Induction Card
- Ability to undertake labouring tasks in difficult working conditions
- Demonstrated team player being reliable, a good communicator and team focussed
- Availability and willingness to work outside of normal working hours on planned or un-planned jobs
Qualification & Experience:
- Civil Construction or Maintenance experience – Certificate 2/3 in Water Operations or Civil Construction would be highly valued
- Experienced in the use of hand tools, power tools, small plant and equipment
- Trade background or experience in excavation, pipelaying or infrastructure construction and maintenance
- First Aid Certificate
- Excavation Plant operating experience or operator certificates including Vacuum Excavation
- Experience with portable technology including workflow apps
