This position provides technical advice, strategic guidance and support on parks open space and environment matters, and assists senior staff in the provision of open space advice to council and its stakeholders on issues pertaining to open space management, investigation and any related general enquiries.
- Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor Degree or Post Graduate Degree in Landscape Architecture, Recreation Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Natural Resource Management or Horticulture; with a least 2 years’ broad range experience in the planning and investigation of landscape involving public infrastructure, especially as it relates to open spaces and streetscapes.
- Your technical skills will allow you to investigate, analyse, interpret and provide advice on landscape concepts, designs and open space studies, including the ability to think strategically when considering impacts on local park enhancements.
- You will have a sound knowledge of the management principles and practices of integrated land use planning especially as it relates to landscapes design and open space planning and maintenance and well-developed negotiation and interpersonal skills to enable the effective communication and negotiation of acceptable outcomes with stakeholders; including sound written and numeracy skills to assist in the development of technical reports, statements of landscape intents, concept plans, master plans, policies, open space maintenance strategies and correspondence.
