Job Description:

The Solution Analyst is a critical role in the Development Operations teams to provide a blend of diverse technical system implementation skills with business acumen and customer understanding. The Solution Analyst will work in the area of complex functional requirements, providing technical capability, using a suite of modern tools and the ability to work directly with customers developing new needs and capabilities.
In addition to this core role of performing work that bridges between the technical and business roles, the Solution  Analyst will also deliver technical design, configuration and implementation including the use of integration, application development and workflow and process automation tools. Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver new functionality and new solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, negotiation and facilitation with stakeholders across all levels within Council.
  • Good core business analysis skills to consult with stakeholders to fully understand and document business and technical requirements and specifications including conducting workshops, business process and use case modelling, solution and interface design and contributing to investment and project documentation.
  • Diverse technical skills to be able to operate across multiple areas of technology to develop end to end business solutions using a variety of languages, scripting, workflow and low code platforms.
  • Understanding of good programming practice, system documentation, quality management, testing procedures and the system development lifecycle.
  • Ability to identify issues/defects, assist with troubleshooting and documentation so it may be actioned.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Formal qualifications in or demonstrated experience in the discipline of Service Management (ITIL).
  • Minimum 7 years’ relevant industry experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Extensive experience working in large and diverse Information Technology environments, supporting and leading the implementation of new functional solutions across a diverse range of platforms.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or other related discipline and/or substantial industry experience.
  • Excellent ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ideally with experience or preparedness to develop skills in agile development.
  • Strong data analysis and database skills, with experience in data mapping, data modelling, ETL technologies and an intermediate proficiency with SQL.
