Job Description:

The Business Systems Specialist will be responsible for the development and delivery of business systems to Council and the community. Council’s business systems architecture is based on a Post Modern ERP hybrid environment consisting of on-premise, private and public cloud solutions. The Business Systems Specialist will ensure the detailed design, build and deployment of business systems to address the business needs of Council and the community.

Job Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of Security and Access Management, Software Development and Change Management methodologies and principles.
  • A good understanding of both the business processes and the technical requirements for a particular area of Enterprise Systems, like finance, assets or human resources.
  • Proven skills in business systems design, configuration, administration, support and development meeting customer and corporate needs whilst meeting data integrity, security and sound application management principles.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and management of compliance and legislative obligations.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business Systems or Information Technology, and/or substantial industry experience.
  • Formal qualifications or demonstrated experience in the disciplines of Service Management (ITIL) and Project Management.
  • Desirable for you to have specific/demonstrated knowledge and experience with Enterprise Systems in a Local Government environment.
  • Experience working with key users on implementation, configuration and management end to end
  • Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Experience with Technology One Enterprise software including, Business Process Automation, ETL and Datawarehouse tables, Tech 1 Business intelligence and Business Analytics
  • Substantial knowledge and demonstrated experience in Business Systems development and delivery. This includes Asset and Works Management, Budget and Finance, Revenue and Billing, HR and Customer Management, Property Management as well as Regulatory and Records Management.
  • Demonstrated experience with iChris, Payroll, HR21 and Time and attendance.
  • Experience across the system development life-cycle, from the initial concept stage through to a finished product in production, across all stages of the delivery lifecycle, including design, development, testing, documentation, training, handover, and support.
  • Experience in developing scripting languages, analyses and reporting tools for the purpose of extraction, transformation and loading data into the enterprise application suite.
