Job Description:

Council’s Manager Public Safety and Lifeguards delivers leadership across a diverse regulatory team that respond to the current and future needs of the community. This includes the provision of an efficient, effective and responsive enforcement, regulatory and security service for the benefit of the Sutherland Shire community The Manager Public Safety and Lifeguards will deliver key outcomes that will contribute to enhancing the safety, security and wellbeing of those who visit, live and work in Sutherland Shire.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse team to support the effective management of a range of services including the animal shelter, crime prevention and security, ocean safety and lifeguards, public safety and roads and traffic.
  • Develop and implement a strategic framework for the Public Safety & Lifeguards portfolio that’s vision is “An informed, proactive and empowered community in which people can safely live, work and visit.”
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements relevant to the role and organisational policies including those related to risk, workplace health and safety, financial management and procurement.

Job Requirements:

  • You have tertiary qualifications in management, business, public safety, environmental health, building surveying, security management or a related discipline.
  • You hold a current NSW Drivers Licence
  • You hold a current Working with Children Check and National Criminal Check
  • You have post graduate qualifications in business management, legal studies or equivalent.
