Job Description:
As we are approaching the peak of the eleven-year solar cycle – solar maximum, where the frequency and intensity of space weather events are likely to increase, the Bureau is transforming its space weather capability to best support government partners and key industry sectors with persistent, timely and accurate space weather warnings and alerts so they are best prepared to take appropriate action to mitigate against space weather events. The Bureau is also relocating the space weather capability from Sydney to Adelaide, where our government partners, including the Australian Space Agency and Defence, along with industry, are well established.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical knowledge of space weather or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience undertaking scientific research in space weather or a related field and associated model and software development.
- Experience leading research projects through to implementation in an operational environment.
