Job Description:

Responsible for leading a team of Community and Recreation Planners, this role will oversee the coordination, planning and development of Council’s strategic approach to community and recreation planning. You will be experienced in identifying social trends, community needs and aspirations through research, analysis and community and stakeholder engagement; providing expert advice and informed community and recreation strategies that address the planned provision of community and recreation infrastructure, services and programs that are consistent with Council’s Community Strategic Plan and in line with legislative requirements.

Job Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will possess tertiary qualifications in social planning, town planning, recreation planning, public policy or a related field and/or demonstrated experience working in a community and recreation planning role. You will have extensive contemporary knowledge and experience in community infrastructure planning, funding models and S7.11 developer contributions, as well as high level research and analysis skills to identify social trends and community needs to inform planning, policy development and initiatives.

With strong interpersonal skills that inform your leadership style, you will have demonstrated experience in building and leading teams to manage projects that are delivered to a high standard, on time, and to budget, as well as forging effective, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
