Job Description:

Council is seeking an experienced and qualified individual to join the dynamic team at the Gisborne Aquatic Centre. The Learn to Swim Administrator’s role is to enhance the aquatic education and learn to swim opportunities of shire residents and co-ordinate a safe, welcoming, effective and efficient Swim and Survive program for local schools.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete duty management shifts at the Gisborne Aquatic Centre.
  • Conduct learn to swim lessons when required
  • Assist in the evaluation and development of the Learn to Swim Program.
  • Generate ideas for new programs and initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of marketing strategies for the LTS program.
  • Assist in the implementation of new programs and changes to existing programs

Job Requirements:

  • A proficiency in modern aquatic facility management principles and practices.
  • Well-developed knowledge of the operation of swim schools and administration.
  • Ability to assist in the provision of staff training, leadership and direction in the areas of customer service, program delivery, centre operations, administration and achievement of centre goals.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of public health and safety issues.
