Job Description:

The Coordinator Statutory Planning is responsible for coordinating a team of Planners to manage assessment of Council’s diverse development applications. The role will build strong relationships with internal delivery partners, drive continuous process improvement and ensure the timely delivery of best-practice Statutory Planning services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build a coaching-based culture that invests in the ongoing professional development of staff
  • Represent the department at Council Planning Committee and Councillor briefings
  • Lead one of three Statutory Planning teams to deliver high-quality and timely planning outcomes and customer service
  • Ensure a high standard of decision-making under delegation, via Council and representation at VCAT

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive working knowledge and understanding of planning principles and service delivery
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities and prepare and implement work plans in order to achieve desired results

Qualification & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Urban Planning (or related) with relevant experience
  • Management experience, developing and leading high performing teams
