Job Description:

Reporting to the Financial Accounting Coordinator you will take a lead role in the corporate reporting and taxation functions of Council to ensure financial compliance and operations of the Council are effective and are in line with all relevant statutory legislation and regulations.

Job Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting / Finance and completed or working towards a CA or CPA with several years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage the relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in providing advice on complex financial issues
  • Leadership skills including the ability to effectively manage the performance and development of staff
  • Extensive experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and preparation of financial statements and budgets
  • Well-developed analytical, investigative and problem solving skills
  • Established proficiency in the planning and preparation of annual Financial Statements
  • Effective administration, reconciliation and maintenance of the general ledger accounts
  • Employment Screening Check – National Criminal Record Check
