Job Description:

Reporting to the Signal Engineering Manager you will manage the governance and compliance of the signalling infrastructure. Your main focus will be inspection, testing, maintenance and renewal activities to ensure the operational availability of our signalling infrastructure, and may include the following responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to Signal Engineering Manager, Corridor Manager, Area Managers and signalling staff to ensure effective implementation of the corridor business plans and budgets for signalling infrastructure
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the signal maintenance team
  • Effective management of the delivery of signalling maintenance services
  • Analysis of asset condition and development of suitable major maintenance and capital works program submissions
  • Analysis of signalling related Train Control Reports (TCRs) and other data; provision of remedial actions
  • Investigation and reporting of major incidents with a signalling input.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Rail Signalling systems would be an advantage
  • Solid experience in Australian signalling construction or maintenance management
  • Demonstrated ability to attain an ARTC Statement of Competency (Signals)
  • Relevant engineering qualifications in electrical and/or rail signalling
  • Strong safety focus and not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Experience in fault finding, maintenance and repairs
  • Well-developed problem resolution and interpersonal skills
  • Current unrestricted drivers’ licence
