Job Description:

The position requires contemporary and best practice knowledge of Human Resource Management in both the Australian Public Service and Australian private sector environments.Demonstrated strong subject matter expertise and proven experience in relevant HR field (talent acquisition programs, workforce strategy, talent management, career mobility and the execution of entry level programs) is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a short and long-term strategy in collaboration with industry and education stakeholders
  • Establish a micro-credential framework, informed by industry, that defines in-demand skills
  • Examine how we work with industry on demand forecasting to understand what technical skills are required for the near future and modify the type of training as appropriate
  • Design and deliver talent acquisition strategies and operational HR solutions to improve IP Australia’s profile in the labour market
  • Explore an approach to skills vs role-based recruitment, identifying a common skills standard adopted by employers applicable across the entire career and education spectrum
  • Design a new career pathway model that transverses the school leaver to late career employee
  • Focus on marketing a digital career to school leavers and how we can partner with industry and across government more broadly to build an effective solution

  • Have exceptional strategic thinking, conceptual reasoning and analytical skills
  • Be regarded as an innovative problem solver and demonstrated evidence of working smarter with limited resource allocation
  • Design and deliver talent acquisition strategies and operational HR solutions to improve IP Australia’s profile in the labour market
  • Have demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive stakeholder partnerships across the private and public sector, cultivating partnerships with colleagues, managers, senior executives and other key people in IP Australia as well as those in other relevant agencies to execute outcomes
  • Be able to effectively prioritise tasks and design an effective work program to meet the needs of the Executive
  • Consistently bringing staff along, achieving high quality results across multiple HR projects
