An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Procurement professional to join Hume City Council, one of Victoria’s fastest growing Councils with an operating budget in excess of $450m. As Coordinator Procurement, you will play a vital role in negotiating, interpreting and managing contracts of signification size and complexity.
Working across the organisation you will be responsible for developing a Strategic Procurement Plan in consultation with all department managers for annual supply requirements and the 5-year Capital Works program ($600m).
Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive contract register, contract management system and category spend register will also be an essential part of the role.
With your strong influencing and organsiational skills you will advise management on best practice procurement arrangements and will coordinate tendering and purchasing support services to the organisation.
To be successful for this role you must also be commercially astute, adept at developing and writing contract specifications and analysing tender documentation and a strong communicator.
You are also a team player and high achiever with a flair for innovative solutions. An understanding of the Local Government Act is highly desirable
- Demonstrated understanding of the Local Government Procurement Guidelines 2013, Contract and Consumer Law, Trade Practices Act and National Competition Policy.
- High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders in providing expert contract management advice to enable achievement of desired outcomes
Qualification & Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in procurement or business with relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a contract management (or equivalent) role and a good working knowledge of contract management processes and techniques.
