Job Description:

This position is responsible for the engineering assessment of major Development Applications, execution of legal documents, issuing of Subdivision Works Certificates and Subdivision Certificates under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Local Government Act/Regulation and the Roads Act/Regulation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of Subdivision Certificates in regard to applications, including site inspections, and preparation of reports.
  • Release, vary or modify positive covenants, restrictions to user and easements.
  • Assessment of Development Applications, including site inspection, and preparation of reports.
  • Assessment and determination of Subdivision Works Certificates in regard to applications and the preparation of reports and certificates.
  • All assessments, inspections, determinations and preparation of reports to be in accordance with the engineering requirements of Council’s DCP’s, LEP, Hornsby Shire Council’s Civil Works Specification, Australian Standards and standard engineering practises.
  • Complete the electronic recording of the work flow associated with the monitoring of the application within the planning management system “Pathway”
  • File and retrieve documents from council’s record systems.
  • Operate all office equipment.
  • Undertake recruitment and selection of other staff as required and make recommendations to Branch Manager’s for appointment.
  • Undertake tasks as required by the Branch Manager within the skills, training and experience of the role.
  • Provide support and guidance to Junior Staff.
