Job Description:
The role provides professional architectural planning, design and project management services within the framework of Unit
objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide professional architectural advice, design, documentation and contract administration services for a range of building types, including
offices, community halls, sport and recreation facilities, public conveniences, industrial structures, commercial buildings, amenities and
kiosks, along with other built environment elements. - Plan and execute assigned investigations, projects and actions and be responsible for the quality, effectiveness, cost and timeliness of the
outcomes. - Work closely with clients in developing and implementing projects.
- Specify, administer and actively participate in organising the work of consultants and contractors appointed by the Unit.
- Implement work in accordance with established work practices, techniques, procedures, standards and regulations.
- Research, investigate and report on new technologies, equipment
innovation and work practices.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated broad range of professional experience, including design of building projects varying in scale and type.
- Wide and detailed knowledge of design documentation and contractual procedures and administration
- Ability to apply relevant architectural theory to practice, including the application of design principles to produce sustainable outcomes and
minimise life cycle costs. - Project management skills, including the ability to plan, manage and evaluate projects and learn from the outcomes, along with management
and coordination of project teams. - Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively across the organisation and pro-actively promote a co-operative working environment with
project team members, other Council staff and clients.
