Job Description:
The Data Lead will oversee and coordinate the formation and implementation of a data strategy to consolidate and analyse existing data for the Courts, initially within the Courts’ Digital Court Program (DCP). The role will involve working closely with a range of stakeholders to surface, define, and manage operational data at the Courts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Liaise and negotiate with internal stakeholders, including core business groups, technical teams and suppliers in the formulation of strategies and a roadmap for leveraging data to gain deeper insights into the Courts’ operations
- Build consistency of process and usage, and champion best practices in data management. Oversees data accuracy processes, goals and assessment.
- Create and implement policies for effective data normalisation, analysis and management to ensure adequacy, accuracy, timeliness and legitimacy of data
- Working across one or more multi-disciplinary project team(s), co-ordinate a group of resources and stakeholders to undertake technical and policy design to establish and maintain improved data management mechanisms and practices at the Courts.
- Prepare advice and make recommendations on issues related to the creation of data definitions and management practices including data security, archiving and expiry.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated awareness and understanding of the best-practice normalisation techniques of structured and unstructured data storage mechanism
- Demonstrated experience working with a range of stakeholders to lead the design, implementation and ongoing support of practical, sustainable strategies to build data definitions, standardised data practices, and improved analytics across the Courts’ data.
- Highly developed problem solving, communication and policy development skills, including an understanding of the operational landscape of Australian Federal Courts and Tribunal
- Demonstrated ability to marshal expertise and personal industry knowledge to analyse, recommend and implement appropriate policies and solutions across a range of operational area
- The IT Division is geographically dispersed and experience in working in such teams is essential.
