Job Description:
Senior Liaison Officer (SLO) is responsible for leading a team of Child Safe Assurance Officers and quality assure the work of the team. The SLO engages with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. SLO’s provide coaching and leadership to the team and report to the Assistant Director.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide regular performance feedback through written and verbal communication in a clear, concise and articulate way
- Manage and support staff through complex content and vulnerable applicant communication
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018 and the relevant Scheme policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Provide leadership to a team maintaining a high quality standard of work and meeting productivity outcomes
- Provide regular coaching and development for staff
- Demonstrate self-awareness and ability to self-manage in a complex, changing environment
- Ensure the timely progression of child safe reports to relevant stakeholders
- Maintain personal development and engage in learning opportunities.
Job Requirements:
- Professional, sensitive and clear communication style including strong writing skills and eye for detail
- Emotional intelligence to enable interpreting emotional and psychological wellbeing of self, team members and colleagues
- Self-awareness and ability to self-manage in a complex, changing environment while managing a diverse team with high workloads in a high-risk environment
- Prioritising and managing workloads to meet quality and productivity requirements
- Undertaking formal and informal on the job training
- Conduct regular coaching, mentoring, nurturing and building individual and team capability
- Experience and capability in stakeholder engagement and navigating complex situations
- Sound judgement to identify and escalate issues
- Ability to adapt and lead others through a changing environment and demonstrates expertise and experience as a team leader and team member.
