Job Description:

We Are Looking For a Dynamic Highly Motivated Python Data Engineer Who Will, As Part Of a Small Multi-disciplinary Innovation Team

Job Responsibilities:

Design and develop web applications and services to self-enable departmental employees to analyse departmental data
Broadly support the work of the branch to enable the department to make evidence-based decisions.
Develop data and analysis products
Create data management and analysis Python scripts

Capable of working under limited direction to solve problems and deliver high quality products to support policy and program delivery.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to clearly convey an idea or concept in unambiguous and persuasive language.
Proven ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and to anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations.
Ability to devise innovative solutions.
Write well-organised, maintainable, and reusable Python code.
Knowledge of spatial software, database (relational and/or graph) and cloud computing and storage infrastructure is desirable.
Knowledge of biological processes and species taxonomy is desirable.

Extensive experience in Python scripting language.
Experience in using Python to manage the collection, storage, transformation, and delivery of data.
Experience in, and good understanding of spatial data and software i.e., ArcGIS is desirable.
