Job Description:

Beyond the spinifex sand plains of arid central Australia lies Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park (UKTNP), one of three national parks leased by their Aboriginal owners to the Director of National Parks, and jointly managed by Traditional Owners and Parks Australia. Parks Australia assists with ongoing management of the park’s natural and cultural heritage.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing the development and implementation of agreements and contracts for the provision of services to UKTNP including negotiating contract and agreements with Indigenous organisations, external contractors and service providers
  • Managing the staff housing allocation for UKTNP staff including development of tenancy agreements, tenancy inspections, assisting with the acquisition of staff furniture and identifying maintenance requirements
  • Managing the UKTNP-wide asset management and fleet registers, including working with sections within the Park to manage assets at UKTNP
  • Assisting UKTNP staff with project procurements and consultant contracts within a procurement management framework
  • Collaborating within the team to support joint management processes and Indigenous engagement.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in asset, procurement, and project management
  • Experience delivering projects in remote locations
  • Knowledge and an awareness of cultural and other issues affecting Indigenous communities in Central Australia and be able to demonstrate a capacity to contribute sensitively and effectively to the joint management of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.
