Job Description:

Portfolio Coordination Group is seeking suitable candidates to fill a number of vacancies at the APS 5 level across the three branches. Broadly, APS Level 5 officers will be required to undertake work that is moderately complex to complex, and to work under limited direction. They are accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a range of projects and initiatives such as the Corporate Plan, the Enterprise Risk Framework, Performance Reporting, and portfolio briefings and artefacts
  • Supporting and delivering capability uplift, including advice on governance, performance, risk and projects, training and other information materials Government and Executive Services Branch
  • Supporting the coordination across the department of Question Time Briefs, responses to Questions on Notice, and regular reporting to Senate Committees
  • Assisting with coordinating international reporting and relationship management with international stakeholders for the department
  • Supporting the administrative arrangements and operations of the department’s Executive Committees
  • Supporting the development of guidance and advice to the department, Minister and portfolio bodies on governance-related matters
  • Assisting with oversight activities of Cabinet items throughout development, clearance and submission, including providing support to departmental officers to develop Cabinet products Audit and Assurance Branch
  • As directed, contributing to strong levels of regulatory compliance and reporting
  • Contributing to complex case investigations
  • External stakeholder liaison with other APS agencies, Australian Federal Police and the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions
  • Internal stakeholder liaison including the provision of feedback and advice relating to identified business weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.

  • Undertaking research and analysis.
