Job Description:

Platform Services is a L3 operational team within the Technology Infrastructure Branch that is accountable for and manages Messaging, Wintel, Database and Monitoring capabilities. We also contribute to a program of continuous improvement projects branch wide. The monitoring team is undergoing a major maturity uplift and is heavily linked with the End to End Monitoring project which is bringing about a transformational shift in the approach to monitoring across the Department.

Job Responsibilities:

Updating comments regarding Severity 1’s and 4’s as required to obtain closure on those discussed at the HPI meeting
Running reports to produce agenda and outcomes shown in meetings including the creation of graphs to be distributed at a departmental level, as well as taking and publishing minutes
Co-ordination and escalation of incidents for investigation across other teams
Managing monthly transaction reports which are distributed to customer relations for inclusion in the IT Services report
Providing support for research on trend analysis, including reviewing incidents & capturing errors/trends for proactive monitoring and collation of symptoms
Creating, updating, monitoring, and tracking all Incidents, including assisting and following up of incidents and managing the team task queue and alerts notification
Managing Change Requests by creating, updating, monitoring, and tracking on behalf of EMT
Monitoring the departments’ Severity 1 and 2 Incidents
Preparing reports for EMT in reference to the Severity 1’s and Severity 1’s Problems for the High Priority Incidents (HPI) meeting
Monitoring tools admin, Trend analysis and maintenance preparation
Developing and maintaining technical documentation and monitoring patterns
Developing and maintaining an understanding of business systems and services being monitored, their criticality, and the service levels expectations of users.
