Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to manage capital works projects and provide engineering support to other business groups in the delivery of long-term projects. This position is required to manage project activities and execute project deliverables in a safe manner and complete projects to high-quality standards, on time and within budget.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review capital works programs, designs and tenders to identify whole of life cost saving and operational risk mitigation opportunities.
- Coordinate nominated projects ensuring projects are delivered within budget and within scheduled timeframes.
- Report on the performance of nominated projects on a monthly basis with regards to program, budget and quality and identify and implement strategies to reduce negative impacts on program, budgets and quality.
- In conjunction with the Team Leader – Project Delivery, deliver all aspects of technical services support to Operations teams.
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation, standards, policies and work methods in the performance of duties.
- Act in the role of Superintendent/Superintendent’s Representative or an agent of the Principal on nominated projects, ensuring all contractual obligations are met on time and high-quality documents are maintained.
- Monitor site adherence to safety procedures and participate in safety investigations as required
- Complete asset capitalisation processes on completion of capital projects in a timely manner.
- Undertake site inspections and attend meetings with relevant staff and contractors.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma of Project Management (or a related engineering discipline) and specialised skills and experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously whilst responding to changing timeframes and project variations.
- Experience delivering civil related capital works projects.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills to engage with contractors, service authorities, consulting engineers and senior management.
- Knowledge of and experience using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and corporate business systems.
- Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
