Job Description:

The role will also provide support and advice into the development and implementation of relevant strategies, networks, and research and programs aimed to address the causes and impacts of homelessness, family and domestic violence, mental health and financial hardship.

Job Requirements:

  • Well-developed working knowledge of social issues related to homelessness, family and domestic violence, at-risk youth, mental health and financial hardship, and advocating and referring to appropriate services.
  • Developed working knowledge of empowerment and community development principles and practices, particularly related to ‘at risk’ communities.
  • Developed analytical, report writing, data collection and computer literacy skills, specifically in relation to client data management and progress reporting.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently under general supervision.
  • Driver’s license and willingness to obtain Provide First Aid certificate, Working with Children’s Check, Police Clearance and work after hours as required.
  • Aboriginality is a genuine requirement for this position under (Section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1984).

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in social work, client support services, youth work, or a related field.
  • Certificate level or higher tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services or a similar discipline.
