Job Description:

Project Managers will work as part of project teams within the National Cancer Control (NCC) Division.  The NCC Division fosters innovation in cancer control to accelerate best practice models of cancer care, develop evidence-based information and resources, and improve outcomes and equity for people affected by cancer, through national leadership in cancer control.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to strategic planning and direction across work programs.
  • Coordinating activities and monitoring timelines and risks for projects and programs of work.
  • Providing advice to Assistant Directors/Directors on progress, issues and risks arising and matters associated with work programs.
  • Undertaking research and analysis to complete synthesis of complex information, including research findings.
  • Contributing to the preparation of high-quality plans, reports and briefing materials.
  • Developing and managing procurement activities, contracts, funding plans, agreements and grants.
  • Supporting health communication initiatives, including cancer awareness campaigns.
  • Providing secretariat support for steering/advisory groups.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and attending stakeholder meetings.

Job Requirements:

  • Familiarity with medical and cancer-related terminology.
  • Tertiary qualifications in health, policy, science, research, data or other relevant fields
  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Experience in health-related project work
