Job Description:

This position operates under limited direction and takes control and coordination of directorate wide and cross-organisation projects
and/or business improvements exercising a degree of autonomy.  Council wants all staff to ‘Go home safe and well today and everyday’ and at all times stay within the ‘Safety Circle’ by taking reasonable care for their own health and safety, take reasonable care that their acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons; and comply with any reasonable instruction given by their supervisor in respect of the Health and Safety of themselves and the Health and Safety of other persons.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Overall management and delivery of projects across the directorate, including cross organisation, emerging, priority and business improvement projects.
  • Contribute to the development of business systems for the Planning, Growth and Sustainability Branch.
  • Prepare detailed reports for submission to the Director and Council.
  • Support and deliver stakeholder engagement, both internal and external, to support the delivery of assigned project

Job Requirements:

  • Proven ability to set and meet timelines as set by Legislation, Council Local Laws and Policies.
  • Demonstrated high level of computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with other government departments, consultants, legal advisers, internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive experience in Business Systems and Administration within Local Government.
  • Class C driver’s licence.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in business administration field, particularly in relation to Local Government.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Commonwealth, State and Local legislation.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated level of organisational skills with an ability to work at a high level of independence with minimum support and supervision.
