Job Description:

Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to work within small teams across the Civil Asset Maintenance section to operate and maintain the Council plant as directed by the works supervisor.

You will have extensive experience and knowledge in the operation of a Backhoe, particularly in the excavation of minor road and concrete works. Experience and knowledge in Skid steer operation are desirable.

Job Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge in all aspects associated with maintenance of Council’s roads and drainage assets and operating backhoe
  • Current Class MR license
  • Appropriate SafeWork NSW certificates and licences.
  • Appropriate skills, Workcover certificates and licenses for position
  • Ability to operate other plant
  • Motivated team player and able to demonstrate leadership in decision-making
  • Aware of Work Health and Safety responsibilities
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in operating backhoes in all facets of civil construction/maintenance including construction and restoration of footpaths, K&G and drainage structures
  • Experience in operating minor plants
  • Experience in operating a skid steer loader
