Job Description:
The Waste Management Coordinator is a pivotal role in ensuring high quality, reliable and sustainable services are provided to meet the needs of a growing regional city. This is your opportunity to join with Council to provide the waste services needed now and into the future. This position requires degree qualifications or equivalent in a relevant discipline, e.g. Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, minimum five years experience in the waste industry and experience in the operation of an EPA licensed facility.
Job Requirements:
- Working knowledge of the provision of a waste collection service and rural transfer station operations.
- Demonstrated ability in supervising, motivating and leading waste staff to achieve required goals.
- Superior communication and conflict resolution capabilities
- Class C Drivers licence
- Degree qualifications in a relevant discipline, e.g., Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering
- Working knowledge of POEO legislation
- Sound knowledge and understanding of WHS and EEO
- Competence in the use of Microsoft software
- Initiative
- Demonstrated ability to manage several projects at one time, and to adapt to changing priorities.
- Asbestos identification and management training.
Qualification & Experience:
- Waste and Recycling Contract Management experience
- Experience in using accounting, mapping and weigh bridge software
- Experience in managing on-going operations of landfills
- Previous experience in the operation of an EPA licenced facility
- Minimum five years relevant experience in waste industry
