Job Description:

The Assistant Water & Waste is responsible for providing administrative support for all matters carried out within all areas of the Water & Waste Section of Engineering Services Department.  The Assistant Water & Waste will also provide, as part of a team, effective and prompt administrative assistance to other staff as required within the Engineering Department to deliver good customer service Duties will include, but are not limited to; typing and circulating reports, agendas, minutes, letters, and memorandum in accordance with Council’s protocols, ensuring incoming mail is checked and distributed, responding to telephone and face to face counter enquiries, resolving conflicts, potential conflict situations and ongoing conflicts and communicating messages and negotiating outcomes to achieve the the desired results

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills (internal / external)
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, including One Drive & SharePoint
  • Experience in updating/maintaining databases and registers
  • Demonstrated clerical skills, e.g. filing, record keeping
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Certificate III in Business Administration, or equivalent
  • Typing speed of 60 words per minute
  • 2 to 5 years secretarial / PA experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Current Class C NSW Drivers’ licence
