Job Description:

The Population Health Group has responsibility for monitoring and surveillance of chronic diseases, risk factors and the health of population groups and undertaking a wide range of novel and complex analyses and reporting projects, including using linked data. The Population Health group works closely with stakeholders to identify data and analysis needs, gaps and options for data development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organise and manage projects, including designing, researching, analysing and presenting information in various formats, and supporting relevant working groups and committees.
  • Undertake a range of research, design, project planning or development tasks, including preparing ethics and/or governance documentation.
  • Liaise and negotiate with other areas of the AIHW, other government agencies, State and Local authorities and/or business or community organisations, and represent the Institute at meetings as appropriate to the responsibilities above.

Job Requirements:

  • Well-developed communications skills, including the ability to synthesise complex information from a range of sources to produce high quality written work in a range of formats and the ability to verbally communicate with various audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively planning and managing analytical projects
  • Demonstrated organisational skills including the ability to prioritise one’s workload and escalate issues when required.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work priorities
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills
  • Highly developed teamwork skills with the ability to supervise staff members
