Job Description:

The ACIC is seeking multiple high-performing directors with proven leadership experience to support the agency and senior executive to deliver on our internal and external communications, governance, policy, ministerial and agency planning. As an accomplished leader, you will lead small teams to achieve agency outcomes that position the ACIC for the future, with a focus on continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.

In this role you will manage complex issues which require engagement with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver solutions which meet the distinctive needs of government and our partners. As an influential leader you will build strong connections with your team to deliver on business functions and strategic objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Engages with complex issues and makes sound recommendations for ways forward.
  • Has a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships within the ACIC and across stakeholder groups, including an ability to use high level communication and negotiation skills to deliver on strategic objectives and represent the agency.
  • Responds positively to changing priorities and demands and supports staff to navigate change.
  • Proactively leads, supervises, motivates and develops teams and individuals within a multi-disciplinary environment, drawing on their extensive leadership and people management skills.
  • Has a high-level understanding of the issues facing intelligence and/or law enforcement agencies, the requirements of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act, the processes and procedures governing ministerial and parliamentary engagement, and/or the delivery of communications functions within the public sector.
