Job Description:

The Security Officer role is a generalist position within the wider Security and Integrity team, comprising of Physical Security, Personnel Security, Ongoing Suitability and Governance, Integrity Intelligence and Integrity Investigations. A key focus for the Security and Integrity Team is education and advice with a view to assisting members of the agency to perform their duties safely, effectively and in accordance with legislative requirements and the high standards expected. The occupant of this position will provide support to the various teams and will liaise, engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and provide advice regarding critical issues with the potential to impact the ACIC and its operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the monitoring and auditing of security related incidents
  • Provides oversight of the day-to-day operation of protective security systems, including access control, physical key management and guarding
  • Performs detailed organisational suitability assessments for new and existing staff
  • Assists in the development, implementation and management of protective security policies and procedures
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of protective security policies and procedures, resources and training.
  • Demonstrates well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to use technology and information management systems in order to achieve team outcomes.
  • Develops positive internal and external relationships
